Piggin, If you are searching for your own birth etc then I would presume this is between 1921 and 1983. Which means you have probably misinterpreted what family relatives actually provides. The index is complete and full name searchable for the years 1866 - 1920. If however you are searching the years 1921 to 1983 it is only surname searchable and all it will bring up is the name of the first and last person registered on that particular page of the GRO index. Which in theory is similar to 1837 and it doesn't guarentee that the particualr name will definately be on the page. So for your birth, you would look at the page of the quarter it was registered in and you will most definately be there. Therefore family relatives is only worthwhile if you are searching the year 1866 - 1920 or 1984 to present.

I have found it excellent for 1866-1920 (and when the entry isn't available anywhere free!), but use 1837online/FreeBMD/Ancestry for other dates. For the fully indexed part I have usually managed to find what I am looking for from one page of results, so that's two units spent, where it might have cost me pounds on 1837, plus would take longer on that site too! Only time I couldn't find something was when I was doing it wrong lol Sarah

This site is only fully transcribed from 1866-1920. Any other dates are the same as 1837online. You have to search each page. The info's there, you just aint looking in the right place. Margaret

Thanks to all. I will have to keep trying. Didn't enter any second names, as i know that doesn't work from other sites. Just tried a couple more, whos details i know are right, mine, my Mother, my Sons and Sister. Their not on there either. My £8 will be gone soon. Ann

I've had really good results looking for marriages about 1915'ish. Found them all straight away.

Just joined this site. Looked for 8 members of my family, Deaths and Births, not found one. Have i wasted my money? What results has anybody else had. Ann
