I'm trying to find out about my grandfather, Leo Pearson. I have traced his birth to Batley, Yorkshire. He met my gran in Canada and they had my mum. My gran left him and came back to Scotland with my mum and all that she ever knew was that he was killed during the 2nd world war. My problem is I can't find any entry for his death and don't know how to how to proceed from here. I have a copy of his birth certificate and his parents names. In fact his birth details are all that I can find. Any help gratefully recieved. Dorothy

There may be 15 Pearsons on the CWGC site (previous message) but none are Leo. Did he have any other names? Was he supposed to have died in combat? Sarah

This is a brilliant website for Canada as it has so many useful links: http://www(.)collectionscanada.ca/ I can't see anything on WW2, but you might find other references that would help you.

His full name was Leo Wilfrid Pearson. I've just been on the site and can find no trace of him. HELP! Where do I go from here?
