* First, enter the child as a natural child of the parents. * Then, select the child and click on the''More'' button next to their name. * Then, click on the ''Lineage'' button on the right. * Towards the bottom of the screen are two boxes labelled ''Relationship with (father)'' and ''relationship with (mother)''. By default, these will be set to ''Natural'', but you can change them to ''Adopted'', ''Step'', ''Foster'', etc etc. Richard. |

Thanks for your replies. We are in contact with both families, that's why I wanted to add them to the tree. Looks like making mention of it in the notes may be the way to go. |

I'm not sure you can do this but what I'd do is add the information to their notes. At least that way you still have a record of it. Sorry it's not much help, best wishes, Carol |

I have two children born to young mothers and they were subsequently adopted. I would like to include the names of the adoptive parents and families, but still keep them joined to my family. How would I go about this on FTM? |
