hi hope someone can help me my great great grandfather is on the 1861 census but is a widower i have traced his marriage to mar 1843 but how can i find out which lady was his wife MARRIAGES 1843 ECCLES MARGARET BLACKBURN 21 14 HARPER MARGARET BLACKBURN 21 14 HAWORTH PRISCILLA BLACKBURN 21 14 HINDLE SARAH BLACKBURN 21 14 KING MARY BLACKBURN 21 14 MOULDING HENRY BLACKBURN 21 14 (G. G. GRANDAD) I HAVE LEFT OFF YHE OTHER MALE NAMES. SO IT MUST BE ONE OF THESE LADIES BUT WHICH ONE ? ON THE 1861 CENSUS LISTED ARE HENRY MOULDING ABT 1816 BLACKBURN HEAD NEWCHURCH LANCS JOHN WILLIAM MOULDING ABT 1850 BLACKBURN SON NEWCHURCH LANCS MARY ELLEN ABT 1847 BLACKBURN DAUGHTER NEWCHURCH LANCS WONDER IF THE DAUGHTER WAS NAMED AFTER THE MOTHER ? BUT MAYBE NOT HOPE THIS MAKES SENSE THANKS LINDA

Linda Have you looked at the other male names on the 1861 census to see if any of the brides tie in to the men. Only other way is to order marriage cert unless someone has the 1851 census for you.
