Anyone know of any site where I can look up some scottish births from 1960. Have looked at 1837, Scotlands People and FreeBMD but they are all wrong country or wrong dates. Thanks Liz

Lizzy, You will have to contact the Registrar General in Edinburgh for any births after 1904. There is a 100 year privacy law on births. Look online for the Registrar Generals Office. I can't remember the exact details, but they tell you how to get more recent Certs. on there. Christine.

Lizzy, I was sure I had printed something off about obtaining recent Certs but is for births registered in the Glasgow area. I don't know where you're looking for, but if its Glasgow you can contact: The Registration Office, 1 Martha Street, GLASGOW G1 1JJ You can contact them by post, personal visit or by phone on 0141 287 7679. Hope this is of some use to you. Happy Hunting, Christine.
