Patricia the way i found it was to go onto google and put in the search box the surname im looking for the area and then t county obv Essex and then there are a number of websites listed and thisisessex should come up as well and it will take you straight to the link xx

The Essex Records office website is good. It has a search function a bit like the A2A website. Already found some stuff on my ancestors.

I have just found that you can place adds on a website particularly for Essex and it will be published on the website and from what i understand also in the evening gazette newspaper! The web address is www dot thisisessex dot co dot uk / essexroots / searchform dot html I dont know how good it is but it is worth a try isnt it!! Good luck x
