Lynn To find out more about Charles W., you would need to get his birth certificate. Prisoners are listed on the 1891 census. You can also see if the relevant records office (I guess in Northampton) has the gaol register which would give more info - including a description/photo birth details and why he is in prison. Perhaps if they had a Charles staying with them, they changed the other Charles' to John to avoid confusion? Or maybe John was his middle name? nell |

I have owen lee born sudborough northants 1801 he married rebecca 1826 sudborough On the 1841 they have a son john aged 14 and daughter pricilla aged 8 .In 1861 sudborough ' Jonn is now charles??? unmarried stil with parents Also in the household is a charles w aged 10 grandson no Pricilla who died in 1890 In 1881 charles [who was john!!] is with his widowed father owen he is unmarried . I have been given info that a charles lee aged 40 was in northampton prison in 1891 [ is this the illigitament so of chrles [AKS john] or pricilla ?? thanks lynn |
