Help. Cape mounted riflemen 1870/80

I am looking for a William Johnson who married in camberwell 1872 and I believe was in the Cape Mounted Rifflemen.and possible died befor 1881 abroad. I have googled and I am still not sure how to find his death. Hope someone can tell me where to go. Margaret

Thanks Tony I searched officers and men in google and the only names i recieved was Johnstone A and Thomas Johnstone no Johnson.

hi margaret,on soldiers memorials site it lists the regiments in what ever war they where in ,1877-79 zulu war, 9th kaffir war, 1878-1881 2nd afghan war,hope this helps,tony

Thanks Tony willgo there now. Update I have tried every wich way for info and in the end have e-mailed South Africa War Graves in hope of information. I am wondering if he was in the Zulu battles or are my dates wrong? margaret

Try 1837online and look under the Overseas section for Army deaths..
