Eliza Matthews (or Mathews) b ca 1820, two possible places of birth (Purton Wiltshire or Codrington) no fathers name given on marriage cert. How will I ever find her? Lisa

I presume you have tried the LDS, how about familyhistoryon line You can do a search before putting in any money. Its astonishing how long £5 will last. I, fingers crossed, have knocked a few bricks out of my wall by going into the next county and possably finding Gtx3 Grandfather. Ofcourse, the next brick wall starts all over again!! Regards Jeanie

I take it you got the birth places from a census? You can look at the IGI or the local records for the baptism and hopefully find it listed.

Lisa, What about your thread on this board called ''I could cry''?? Wasn't that about the family of this Matthews lady (apologies if it wasn't)? The marriage cert with no fathers names for bride or groom?? From memory, we traced her father or both parents and various other things. The thread is still there (it's on my thread list) so take a look there were 20+ replies!! Good Luck Sarah

Oops - now kids are eating their tea and I'm not being harassed, I can see you did get back to your other thread. Did none of that work out? Sarah
