I found this site quite useful http://www.familyhistoryonline.net/ it is pay to view but it is worth having a look around searching as this is free. It is only when you want to view that you pay. I found a lot of info on my Yorkshire family from burial records, even some we never knew about. Another tip is to look at the census. If gg grandad etc was alive in 1881, but his wife was a widdow in 1891 then you have narrowed down when he died to ten years. Look on Free BMD for the period and location and you could well find what you wany. |

Hi Natalie I'm in the same boat as you! Depending on which county your rellies are from the familyhistoryonline website can be quite useful, it has some Burial Indexes & Monumental Inscriptions. Nikki |

Obituaries in newspapers helps. Census info can help too..........there alive and kicking in 1871 but no where to be found in 1881 - narrows a search down. Children marriage certs will record SOMETIMES a father deceased again narrows it down. The use of the Burial Index or GRO index trawling through. It's very hit and miss. I too have a lot of undead floating around. Much happiness debi |

I have quite a lot of people in my family tree. I have dates of birth or christening, most marriages. How do i find out when they died? I have so many 'undead' people in my tree and dont know how to get that info. Nataloe |
