Thanks for your suggestions. The only other ways I have seen Habblett spelt is Hablett or Habblet and if this were the case it would still be on the same page as Habblett. Oh well, just another one of those mysteries I suppose, got plenty more of those! Lorraine

Sarah, A good suggestion, however unfortunatly Clara if the only Habblett on the index page (Sorry but I double cheaked the index page just incase), but I wondered if the twins surname was spelt differently as my dad has relatives who have differently spelt surnames despite being brothers and sisters - only any close varient of the spelling would be on the same page.

I completely agree with lady Lunar, but just checking that you have considered the twin (if there was one) could have been recorded on the page before or the page after your ancestor. (ie if the registrar had to turn the page between the two twins!) Sarah

Hi Lorraine It could be that thr registra was very perticular and efficent or even there was a still born twin. Since this is still very early in civil registration we might never truelly know the answer

I have my gt gt grandmother, Clara Habblett, born 28/8/1847 in Southwark. On her birth cert a time of 3:20 p.m. is recorded. I was under the impression this was only done for twins (I have a set of twins elsewhere also where this is the case). However, on 1837 website she is the only Habblett listed on her page for that whole quarter. So does this mean there was a twin that died (can't find a death cert either) or is there another reason the time would have been recorded? Any info appreciated, Lorraine
