WOAS seems to mean 'Whilst On Active Service' The rest will refer to some regulation which was/not complied with - or categorisation of disablement? - something along those lines - could be exceptionally good behaviour, too. SEC.41.AA may well be a reference to King's Regulations (assuming a male monarch at the time) - the forces rule books. Christine |

A very speculative suggestion (depending on his rank, of course) but WO can stand for Warrant Officer. Was it WW2 - the AS bit could be Artillery Section/Service, the AA bit could then be something like Anti-Aircraft. Have you googled it? It seems to have some sort of punitive/offence association in theonly military link I found. Not a rank/position at all. Christine |
