Hi. I have narrowed my grandfather's greatfather a James Morris born 1819 in Pitteweem down to two possibilities, the one that looks more right that the other has his parents on the OPR index listed as Zenney and Alexander. I have found a marriage in 1816 in Pitteweem for a Alexander and Zina Morris. James's second daugther was given the name Zina too. Does it look like I am heading down the right path? |

Hi Michelle. Did you know there is a girls name, Zenobia ( sorry not sure of the spelling). I know zina is short for that. Might this help. |

Thanks for the replies. Kaye - That was my first thought too, though there are no children by that name and the name Zina appears in a number of following generations which is why I am leaning towards Zenney and Zina being the same person. Joyce - Further down the generations the spelling has changed to Zena (and sometimes Xena) Michelle |
