As far as I am aware all the certificates ordered via the FRC are sent from Southport. I'd be inclined to phone the FRC and ask about the lack of a quarter in the reference. I guess that the overseas marriages would be quite small in number so would only have been divided into years. I hope you get the result you're looking for Good luck Janet |

Yes Joe, it was here that i found them on their overseas thread, and when i went on to ordering certs it was then that i saw the part that gave a list of the available overseas areas, and mine was not included, should i try anyway? i don't want to mess around sending a payment off if they can't do it i want to be sure first MOE! |

I have spent all weekend trying to get a marraige certificate for my great grandparents, but because they were married in India in 1881 i went from link to link and ended up on a page to do with the india records, and i have to look in the FRC in London. Can i go anywhere in Merseyside to obtain the info i need? on the GRO site it gives a list of overseas places they have records for, unfortunatly MHOW in INDIA is not listed, out of all the certs i have found this is the one i need to connect me to the irish side as my great grandmother was from ireland and i was hoping the area was on the cert . Also the marrige page i found gives the area they were married the year and a number 295 no quarters so i do not know if this is enough, please help thanks MOE! |
