That's a great idea! I also have made copies of my family CD on disk which includes history, personal stories, pictures, and documents and sent a copy to the National Historical Society in Philadelphia, PA and to our local historical society....I update and send new disks once a year. In addition, at our last family reunion I gave out 150 copies to our guests....they were thrilled to learn more about our history, everyone now has all the old pictures (which can be printed out) and family members seem to be more interested in helping with the tree as I'm being e-mailed all the time with more information. My family website has helped to peek interest as well as everyone wants to see a story about one of their own in the CURRENT EVENTS sections - www(.)coskey(.)net Judy

Good idea, what do they do with it then? My Son is having mine, he is the only one interested in it anyway. He wants to pass it down to his children when the time comes. If they want to throw it away, thats up to them. I am doing it mainly for my own interest, and to keep me off the streets, as my Mother would have said. Ann

thats a good idea , although I was thinking of making them work as hard as I have had to ,I seem to be the only one in our family thats bothered about our ancestors , so frustrating when I find something out and no-one to discuss it with.

Something to consider doing before you die, is to leave a copy of of your family tree and research materials with the Society of Genealogists http://www(.)sog(.)org(.)uk/index.html Just incase all your hard work is accidently thrown away by who ever inherits your estate.
