I've seen other Phebys too. I think it might be the way the name was spelt. Until widespread recording, names would be written lots of different ways. nell

Is it Phepy Phillips? On the original page it reads Pheby, which sounds as if the enumerator had never heard it before so wrote it phonetically. Sarah

I think phoebe is more likely too, have you any other names? father mother etc?

I have found a name on the 1881 census. Wife's name 'Phepy'. Could anyone tell me if this a shortened version of a Wesh name or a mistake. Sue
