Parts of the Norfolk 1841 transcription are on the Norfolk Transcription Service site. English Origins also has quite a bit. You might be lucky if you google 1841 + the county or place you want. Having looked at parts of it myself at the FRC on microfilm, it is v. hard to decipher as it looks as though it has been written in dark grey pencil on light grey paper, so expect the usual transcription errors. nell

I've seen requests for '1841 Somerset' being answered on Records Office board. There was someone offering lookups on there too, but the thread is now closed. Have no idea about Glamorgan. Aberdare and Pontypridd sound bigger (Dulverton had a pop of about 1300 in 1841), so you might need an address. Good Luck I have Somerset 1851 if that's any use? Sarah

Thanks Sarah. I'm particularly interested in Glamorgan (Aberdare and Pontypridd) and Dulverton, Somerset. If anyone can point me int he right direction I'd be very grateful. Pam

These is very little 1841 census information on the net. What there is, is mostly confined to individual parishes. If you can say which counties you are after, someone may be able to point you in the right direction. Also, some people have parts of the 1841 census on CD, so you could ask for a lookup on the Records Office board. Often those cd records are not indexed, or only street indexed, so you would need an address to search unless it is a small village. Sarah
