I got a birth cert the other day for a John Roberts and it was the wrong one. This could solve a big puzzle in my tree so I was really angry that they had sent me the wrong one. I checked 1837online again for the reference...doh! my fault, I had filled the form in but put the reference number from the line above (which happened to be the same name and also from Staffs). How stupid did I feel and what a waste of £7! Sam x |

Done that sort of thing before. Soooo frustrating isn't it? At least you don't lose your whole £7.00. :o( Claire xx |

Ordered a marriage certificate last week, should have arrived tomorrow - I was getting quite excited, but came home tonight to see a message from the GRO - Cannot find your people, it said, no such couple in this quarter. I read the reference - that's OK I thought, then I got on my high horse (as you do) and went back to check the reference. And there was the problem I had put March quarter instead of September - saw the 3 and thought third month! Boy do I feel stupid, and it cost me £3. I guess my tip is, make sure you have the right glasses on............. |
