How can i find out if a family emigrated. I can find no record of them, Husband , wife and 3 children in any of the census after 1871. i am assuming they emigrated as I can find no record of any deaths. many thanks Kim

Try ellisisland .com. It lists people who emmigrated to America. Gloria

I wouldn't assume they emigrated. If you can't find them, they are probably mistranscribed. If you put the family as they appear in 1871 on the boards, we can have a look for them in 1881. nell

I've found the widowed mother, Mary ann and Annie Maria on 1881 census. See Kim's other thread 'Immigration' for details. nell
