Thankyou very much for that Crista. I didn't know about the other son Harry. The Wood family ties in with their mother's side, many thanks. Thankyou to all of you. I'll have to check out that death entry for Joseph Sandel, although not spelt the same, you never know. I really appreciate all you time and help, Carol x

I found a death of a Joseph Sandel age 5 in 1883 also a joseph sandall age 10 in 1886 could he be one of them sorry forgot to write down the area but it wasnt lewes

A lot of my 'missing' rellies have turned out to have gone to sea or emigrated. I doubt if he would have emigrated without his parents at the age of about 13, but could have gone to sea at that age. Kate.

Hi, I am trying to find what happened to a family member of mine after 1881. he was Joseph William Sandals born Lewes 1877/8. He is on the 1881 census with his parents in Kingston, Surrey. He has a brother Christopher George Sandals born 1878, Richmond Surrey. Cannot find either on the 1891. 1901 I finally found Christopher George in Liverpool. I have traced Christopher's family forward to present day but what happened to Joseph is a mystery. Have trawled through the St Catherine's Index at the library. Anyone fancy a challenge? There is an entry for a death of a Joseph Sandals in 1883 in Kingston but that is his father. Any help much appreciated, Carol
