Thanks Nell, its the first time ive looked up on Lancashire bmd i prefer 1837online, even though it cost more i always get a result. i just can't face going back on there tonight. ive been on most of the day looking for others. His wife is defo Ann Salter i have a birth cert of their child MOE!

Mo,, If you have the names of couple .year .quater place .and ref index numbers then you shouldnt have a problem,,for uk certificate,, I dont know about oversea's? Kay

Just looked on Ancestry and the only George Foy I can find in Lancashire was married in Ormskirk Sept Quarter 1877 to either Ann Frances Richardson or Jane Wilkinson. I have found an Ann Salter married to Patrick Foy in Blackburn dec quarter, volume 8b page 397. You can send for these certs on line from Southport GRO. Hope this helps Gloria

Moe I imagine that ref is for Lancs BMD only. To order from the GRO you will need the year, quarter and district the event was registered, plus the volume and page number. I found this on Ancestry civil reg, but it isn't to Ann Salter: « List of Matches Next Match » Personal Information What to do next? Name: Foy, George Record Type: Marriages Quarter: September Year: 1877 District: Ormskirk County: Lancashire Volume: 8b Page: 1048 The women on the same page are RICHARDSON, Frances Ann WILKINSON, Jane nell

i have done so well today, i have found a few marraiges of rellies, one in MHOW i have a ref number for one i found on lancashire bmd its a marriage in 1877 GEORGE FOY m ANN SALTER reg lp/160/89 could i order a certificate with this ref or do i need more info? Thanks MOE! PS. Can i order a overseas cert in the same way as norm on 1837online?
