Tried all those. I managed to find another report into the inquest, which says the incident happened on a Saturday, so maybe it was The Sunday Times that reported it. That's not included in the Archive.

Perhaps you could try a headline, rather than a name? Something not too lurid.(even tho' some were a bit bloodthirsty ) Of course I've now gone blank!! ''Police killing' ? ''Man's Death''? 'Crime Report' , ''Arrest Death'' Wouldn't think the report would be too far back, so you can put specific dates in. Only thing I can think of Regards Jane

I've found a report, on the times archive (from 1878) into the inquest into the death of someone, who was killed by a police officer, when being arrested. The report says 'the circumstances of the case have already been reported', but I can't find that report. I've searched under the man who died's name and the policeman's name. There's no other information, like where etc, to search on. Any suggestions?
