There are not many photos of identified soldiers that appear on ebay and there are only 6 that I can find at the moment. However, I would like to check the listing regularly and name them here so that, hopefully, a family member can purchse them. I have listed the present one below with the regimental number, if known and the end time (in brackets) for the auction.....Janine Serg. Nicholas BRIGGS Royal Artillery (12/06 5.18am). Pte. Albert ORCHARD SE/5646 Army Veterinary Corps(12/06 5.18am). Pte Eli BYE 315796 Chesire Regiment (12/06 5.18am). Sapper L.HART Royal Engineers (12/06 5.18am). Sapper G.D. POGSON Royal Engineers (12/06 5.18am). Sapper W.GRANT 75451 Royal Engineers (12/06 5.18am). |

I know I do the same. I always keep my fingers crossed that one day the medals that I have been searching for will appear. Thought I would start this thread to avoid getting confused on the thread that Tony runs. Hope to be able to reunite you one day.........Janine |

Hope it's OK to put this one on your thread? I have a postcard photo of ten WW1 Troopers - they have signed the reverse (12 sigs!!). From research they are either Gloucester Regiment/Yeomanry/Hussars or Royal Field Artillery. (stuff in brackets, below, is from my research). The photo was taken at Northgate Street, Gloucester. I will email a copy to anyone who would like one. Eric G THORNTON-BROWNE Harry SHERBORNE Arthur J WORLOCK (identified through member on this site!) Norman G WITCHELL (Middle name George - Glos Hussars Pte 2645) H W FOWLES (Possibly Hubert William - 2nd Lieut Royal Field Artillery) Reginald ROWLEY A N RAYNHAM (Archibald Nelson - Glos Yeomanry Sgt 2366) J COOK R VIZOR (Raymond - Glos Yeomanry Pte 2293) J E BENNETT BRAIN Philip WOLLEN (Glos Hussars/Yeomanry Pte 2402) H D LLOYD Best Wishes Sarah |

Hi Lilly, On the opening page select collectibles - listed on the left hand side. When the catagories come up pick the WW1 section and when this shows, on the life hand side there will be a number of sub sctions that you can opt for. Photographs are half way down. At the moment there are around 287 but only 6 have been identified. Alternatively, if you know the regiment, you can search for items for the regiment on the homepage. You will get a better selection by choosing the first option that I have mentioned....Good luck.....Janine |
