accept the status quo, and just start a new bar every night. I've come home from work and found the Tips Board has become nearly as vitreolic as the General Board, which rather defeats the object of the excercise. (I'm so upset by it I've forgotten how to spell). It suits the bar regulars to be on GR and on the Tips Board. GR are a law unto themselves and will not engage in meaningful discussions. What else can we do. I think the people who have fought this battle so bravely today (while I was out at work) are fantastic, but I really do not want to lose them because of it. I do appreciate that this solution is particularly hard on our antipodean friends, who lost the thread from under them last night. Does anyone else have any other suggestions? |

Maybe everyone should ignore any adverse messages that are put on a thread, and maybe they would get the message... why feed their tendencies to bring about an argument... eventually they would get the message. Anne :))) |

Tina, Are we camping out here or should I start a new thread? Was thinking of 'LEAVING PARTY! Please ignore if you do not wish to contribute.' |

OK - I am so upset by this whole business that I am prepared to have another try. However, can I suggest that if the 'pub' is invaded by some of the less-than-pleasant element that hang around on the GB, we just ignore them? I am not suggesting that everyone on the GB is like that - most of them are lovely people - but I have been put off the GB in the past by the extremely unpleasant personal comments that have been made. All I want is a little light relief and fun - no nastiness. I will give it another go - with trepidation. |

I'll happily set up the thread if there's no objection. See earlyer thread for title. |

Go for it Lunar - I see no reason why your name should be mud with GR so maybe they will leave us in peace. It will be interesting to see if the rate of response to queries on the Tips Board drops. |

Hiya - How about if you had your own bar on the general board? The Tips(y) Bar, lol, could be yours and no-one could get it removed. |
