During the trial period you can upgrade to a 1 year subscription to the UK & Ireland collection (which basically gets you unlimited access to available censuses and BMD look up) for around US$30 to $40. This is versus a US$100 price if you sign up cold from the Ancestry web site for the same service. Unless you have specific needs to research outside UK records, you DON'T need a general Ancestry subscription IMO. As an existing Ancestry subscriber you should be able to get the same pricing, though you may need to dig around a bit on the Ancestry web site to find it. Cheers, Bill Sydney, Australia |

Hi Bill. Contacted Ancestry re: different costs. They told me I had paid $59.95.US dollars I guess. However I was charged 59.95 pounds (no pound sign) $163 nz.I asked if I cancelled ( after contract ended) could I get Ancestry at 29.95 as the offer suggested. They replied suggesting a no. to use to cancel.Ignored the other bit about the renewal price.I went to look for the free trial and noticed the 29.95 for the year is removed. Now its that price per quarter.Where did you see it advertised for US$30-40?.I looked at the web page but cant find anywhere to get the cheaper price as you said.
