Hi Sarah, No Hillingdon only came under Uxbridge when they got rid of Middlesex & made us part of London. I grew up in Hayes, if there is anything I can help with, just ask. Vivienne

I am looking for an illusive death certificate for a man who died in abt 1908 in Hillingdon.

Hi Sarah M, That answers my question but in a round about way. What happened was that Harlington [Staines] was joined to Hayes [Uxbridge] at some point after the 2nd world war. I have been saying for so many years that I come from Hayes that I had forgotten that I was actually born the other side of the station which put me in Harlington. Thanks for clearing that up. Vivienne
