I wonder if any one can help me. I am trying to locate a parish in Bristol and am not sure where to start. I have a Caroline Salvidge married in 1849 in St Philips in Bristol.I know from her marriage cert she was born in Bedminster,in Bristol in 1829.Apart from going to the church and going through the registers to see if she is in there how would I go about locating her? Any help would be much appreciated, Sineadxxx

Hi, The registers are usually held in the county record office. They may have also been filmed by the LDS church. If they have you can order the film of the parish records at and LDS centre near you (for a small fee) Gwynne

Had a quick look on the IGI for you - not your girl, but likely a relative: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Caroline Salvidge Female Family -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Event(s): Birth: Christening: 1801 Wells, Somerset, England Death: 01 APR 1867 Burial: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Parents: Father: James Salvidge Family -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marriages: Spouse: William Flower Family Marriage: < 1830> <Bedminster, Somerset, England> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Messages: Record submitted after 1991 by a member of the LDS Church. No additional information is available. Ancestral File may list the same family and the submitter.
