I have ended up at a brick wall in my research and i am pulling my hair out, So i thought I would ask some wise people for some advice. I am looking for a Jeremiah Tattersall before 1855 I have found him on the 1861 and 1871 lancashire census each time living in a different place and giving a different place of birth Halingden and Ewood bridge. I have the 1851 lancashire census and have checked the places that he his living in the 1861 and 71 i have also checked the only place of birth that i know of Ewood bridge as i believe Haslingden is an area of many towns. What do i do next? or am i never going to find him? Thanks in advance

Hi, Do have his baptism from IGI? If so where was he baptised? Have you looked at sibling places of birth on the census? Are they the same? If different try looking there. Gillian

Thank you Gillian I don't know of any of his siblings and i can not find him on the IGI on the familysearch site.

Frustrating isn't it!!!! I don't suppose you knew who his parents are either! Or where they married! When was he born? If 1837 onwards, try searching freebmd. G

All i know his father was called john that is it. I hav a bad feeling that i am going to have to searc through the whole census :(
