Natalie, Im amazed you have gone so far using just Family search IGI. Do remember that a lot of the info on there is suspect as it is submitted by people who can often make mistakes in the excitement of trying to fit a jigsaw together. Have you double checked all the info you have? You may find that you get a completely different lead.

I think your next step should be Parish Records. These will take a long time to wade through, but can be worth it. You may find that you can't get back much further because records have been lost and/or damaged.

Wills, inquisitions post mortem, subsidy rolls, manorial records, muster rolls are a few of the sources which may exist for the area and the period you are interested in and which will give names and hopefully help link families together.
