My broadband pack has arrived and I am not to sure about fitting it up. Can the broadband box go to an extension of the main telephone that is near my pc or does it have to go in the main telephone box that is a long way from my pc. Only 2 ADSL filters , one for the telephone one for the pc do I need to buy one for my printer. I have a fax connected to my printer, will that work now, not really a problem if I do not use it, I have only used it a couple of times since I had it. Any ideas or help appreciated. Irene |

You need a filter on every point where you have a phone connected. We have 5 'cos we have a phone upstairs and one in the kitchen (as well as the PC and SKY tuner). Hope that helps. Jill |

Hi Irene As far as I can remember (!) your ADSL filter can go into your extension. Infact it has to go nearest to your computer if you get my drift. Mine is plugged into an extension lead with phone points - then a wire goes out of the extension lead and into the phone socket. Is your extension coming off the main phone point or is the telephone on your main phone point? Not too sure about the fax/printer. But I would have thought as that is connected to your pc, the one from your extension should be enough. Jeanette x |

Irene, you can always ring the provider for a step by step what to do - did they not enclose a simple diagram. I took ages working out which bit went into which then realised it was a lot simpler than I thought. Hope you connect it all ok and then see how much quicker your pc goes. |

Just thought I'd add, I've got 3 phones. One is on a main base station and the others don't plug into phone extension points. Hence I only need one filter for the phones, running off the main phone with the base station. Jeanette x |
