My daughter has changed the settings on my printer so as to save my colour cartidge, Now I want to change it back again and can't. Can someone help please? Linda

There are several ways to choose which ink cartridge to use....to set it so it uses the black all the time: 1. Click on START. 2. Click on CONTROL PANEL. 3. From the list that was generated click on PRINTER & FAXES. 4. Place your your mouse over the name of the printer and click once to highlight it. 5. Now, with your mouse over the name of the printer RIGHT click. 6. A drop down box will appear....click on PROPERTIES. 7. You should now be looking at a screen with labeled tabs....click on COLOR MANAGEMENT or whatever pertains to the color settings on your PC.....you can choose here on what ink cartridge is used as the default cartridge. If your printing, using the black ink jet as the default cartridge and you want to print one document in color you can temporarily switch to the color ink cartridge without going through all the hassle of the above directions. 1. Bring the item (or web page) up on your screen. 2. Click the PRINT option like you normally would. 3. When the print box appears, before clicking on the PRINT button, click on PREFERENCES. 4. A screen with labeled tabs should appear....one of the tabs should be labeled COLOR (or something similar as each printer may work differently than say, the one I have.) 5. Choose the color option of your choice and click OK. 6. You'll be returned to the PRINT button....just click print and the document will print out in color.....leaving your default to black. This works both ways - whether you have black or color set as your default cartridge......the black ink cartridge is cheaper to use as it doesn't run out as quickly using the black cartridge option.
