I am looking for a Percy Wyllie Craswell. Born Pancras area 1879. Around 1895 he became a crew member , possibly plying between U.K and Australia/N.Z. On his New Zealand records (on Enlistment) he is described as a Steward known as Albert Craswell. He enlisted in Jan. 1915 and his last employer was H.Parker coy. Australia. Can anyone kindly help me fill a few deatils of his life Please? Thankyou , Jane |

Jane In order to crew on ships bound from England he would have needed to have a Seamans Ticket. The records of these are kept aat the Natinal Archives at Kew. I've not used them myself so I dont know what info you need in order to search but someone else may be able to give you some pointers or try searching the board for seamans tickets Zoe |

Hi, As far as I know a personal visit to Kew is the only way. I found my gt grandfather's master's ticket there. There is a leaflet that explains how to do it which you can download. It takes a while because you have to search the index then make a note of the ref number and order up the right register. Gwynne |

Thankyou for the Kew information. There is a CD 'Crew Lists and Agreements, 1863 to 1913' and I was hoping that someone might have a copy Jane |
