how do i search an address

Hi wonder if anyone can help, searching for my grandfatcher cn't find much info, but i have his mother's address, if there anywhere i can look up an address to see who lived there/ Also i am having difficulty searching i am back to 1800 on my grandmother's side but need some search tips? Any tips apprecaited?

I know that you can search for a place or address on the 1901 census (national archives site) and 1861 census (1837online) but appart from that I have no ideas. Prior to 1 july 1837 you need to search the parish records as there were no civil registrations.

Jess My grandfather was Frederick Moore borm 31/03/1889, birth registered at stratford, his father's name was the same as his, his mother apparently lived at 47 Mapleton Road Enfield. He also had a brother Henry and Charles, thats as much as i have

HI THERE YOU CAN DO AN ADDRESS SEARCH IF YOU ARE ON ANCESTRY FIRST GO INTO THE YEAR FROM THE HOME PAGE IT THEN TAKES YOU TO SEARCH IF YOU SCROLL DOWN IT HAS COUNTY CLICK ON THE COUNTY IT WILL THEN COME UP WITH CIVIL PARISH CLICK ON WHICH ONE YOU WANT THEN SUB DISTRICT COMES UP CLICK ON THE ONE YOU WANT IT THEN COMES UP WITH HOW EVER MANY SUB DISTRICTS THERE ARE IN THAT PARISH IT HAS View description of enumeration district IT DOES TAKE A LONG TIME BUT IF YOU REALLY WANT TO FIND AN ADDRESS YOU CAN I HAVE SPENT HOURS DOING IT LIKE THIS AND HAVE FOUND ADDRESSES HOPE THIS IS CLEAR ENOUGH TRACY :)

I had a quick look at a map from 1881 and it shows Enfield as being in Middlesex - You can get the full address from the site. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- www*old-maps*co*uk
