Sam I would think the same applies now as did back then It will only state Father Deceased if the bride or groom actually said that he was. If they were simply asked their father's name and stated it, they might not have thought to mention that he was deceased Lou

I received a marriage cert today, for 1989, if either the bride or grooms fathers' (both named) had died, would you expect it to say so? I know with certs from long ago there were no guarantees, I have several where the fathers' were long gone, but it doesn't say deceased. Thanks - Sam
