sorry about that - i thought i posted the message before - oops i have thomas hurst (b 1838) the father of William (b 1872) & mary (b 1875) & esther (b 1891) on the 1901 census it says Esther Hurst 10 (1891) Lancashire, England Sister West Derby Lancashire Mary Hurst 26 (1875) Lancashire, England Wife West Derby Lancashire Thomas Hurst 63 (1838) Lancashire, England Father-in-law West Derby Lancashire William Hurst 29 (1872)Lancashire, England Head West Derby Lancashire i've read this as Mary's father is thomas, but Ester is William's sister is this right? |

William and Ester are brother and sister William and Mary are Husband and Wife Mary is the daughter of Thomas OR Thomas is the step-father of William (and Ester?) Some times they refered to a 'Step' relationship as an 'In Law' relationship because the law considered the two people related. |
