There is only 1 Ann Bentley (or variations thereof) on the NBI for 1939. She was buried in July in Springfield, Essex, so I'm afraid she is highly unlikely to be your one, sorry. Carole

I'll have a look, althought the NBI doesn't have a great deal on it from the 20th century. Carole

Hello Caz If you type 'National Burial Index' into the search facility on the Tips Board, there are quite a few entries. Perhaps you could email someone direct who obviously has the index and is willing to help others. Suzy

Hi Caz First of all, I will gladly look on 1837 for the GRO reference if you want to order the actual death certificate - just let me know. There are more experienced people on here who will know a lot more about this than me, but when I was looking for a 1940 burial, I wrote to the Bereavement Services Dept of the relevant Council. They were really helpful and gave me not only the name of the cemetery, but the plot number as well. Mandy :)

could anyone help me with a lookup in London? I am looking for Annie Mary Bentley, nee Lewis, died 1.3.1939 in Archway Hospital, The Archway, Islington (I think). She was living at the time in the St Pancras / Kentish Town area. Would be really greatful if someone could help or advise on how I find where she is buried. Annie was my dads mum, he was only 3 when she died so he does not remember her. It would be great to find where she is buried. Thanks Carol PS - I don't know if i should but I am also posting this on the records board
