Lyndsey, Any 'open' homosexual, and in particular any protesting homosexual would have been 'notorious' in the 1950's and 60's !! I googled 'Homosexuals Sydney Australia 1950 - 1960', and quite a few sites came up. maggie

Nice one Sherlock, I like it!! On a serious note, do you know anything? All I've got to go on is 'know to associate with notorious Sydney homosexuals' Would 'Kings Cross' be anywhere near Liverpool Street, Sydney?

Have you tried the National Archive of Australia web site? (just need to Google). I have a notorious relative in Sydney, although not a homosexual and I'm waiting for a digital copy from them of a police investigation in the 1940s. You can search their records by name. Hope you find something, Helen

Where can I find information about 'notorious' Sydney homosexuals?!!!! Looking for the period 1950-1960. Anyone got any ideas?
