A bit of human contact is nice. Tonight's topic - if the hall hasn't been converted into a polling station - is 'The future of the internet for Family Historians'. |

Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it | Report | 5 May 2005 16:10 |
Hi Desmond I live in Kent & have joined the local branch of The Kent Family History Soc altho I & my rellies came from Se London & Essex. We have a monthly meeting with very good speakers on all sorts of family history subjects .& the soc arranges coach trips to London Records Office, & Kew at VERY reasonable cost. The expert knowledge too of lots of the members is invaluable,& not all of the research of members is confined to Kent. Plus its a really nice social get together once a month! The yearly subs are really worth what I get out of it. Shirley |

I haven't tried our local family history society, but it can't be better than the people on here, they are so helpful with tips and finds. I am a member of Ancestry and have found that great, it stopped me from asking too many questions on the tips board. Gloria |
