There is also FreeCEN - it is worth looking to see if it covers the area and date you want; you might get lucky! Also, there is the 2% sample of the 1851 census at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb (.) com/~bewickgenealogy/census/alpha.htm remove brackets and spaces Kate.

Depending one which county/area you want, there are quite a few 'bit' of various censuses available online although no complete ones. Try using google and searching '1851 Brighton' or wherever, I've found quite a bit by doing this. Sam

Hi, The 1881 is the only census where you can get that much information for free. You can search other censuses on Ancestry by registering, but can only view very limited information without paying. The same for the 1901 census website, although you can download the 1901 census decoder which can show you the names of people in the same household.

Can anyone tell me any websites where I can look up relatives/ancestors for free? So far i've only found the 1881 census where i can see the households. Is this the only one? Thank you x
