I just found my ggg grandfather and family on the 1851 census sample on ancestry. They were living in All Saints, Northants but his place of birth is recorded as Harpole. Does anyone know how big that place is? If i took a trip to Northants records office one saturday morning would i have time to get through all the parish records in the 3 hours it is open Paula

I've never heard of Harpole, so I guess its not that big. Depending on what you intend to do, you could probably get through quite a few years on the registers in a few hours. It depends on how many entries there are that you want to note down and how long your family stayed there. nell

His wife was from Olney, Buckinghamshire, is that anywhere near Harpole? Not exactly being a geographical genius I thought Buckinghamshire was way down South but i just looked up Olney on GENUKI and it says its near the Northamptonshire boarder Paula

Hello, Harpole is a lovely little village, my sister used to live there, and we went to a Comprehensive School near there. It is near the M1 too, also between Northampton and Weedon on the A45. Hope this helps, Mea.
