There are censuses for the whole country 1841-2001. Only the 1841-1901 are open to the public. 1841 and 1851 are very difficult to get hold off - there's not much available online and what there is is transcribed, rather than original image. If you ask nicely on the REcords office board, someone with a CD covering Southwark for 1851 may be able to help. Not sure if 1841 is available on CD. All the censuses are available on microfilm at the Family Records Centre, London. nell

I am looking for a family called Hallier (Hallear) who were living at 1 Violet Place, Great Dover Road, Newington, Southwark, Surrey in 1846. There was Elizabeth Hallier born about 1802 and her sons Nathaniel James born 1846, Frederick born 1834 and George born 1838. All the children were born in this area but I am trying to find any information on this family and any other Hallier families in that area. Help!
