Right....... a Walter Harwood in my family tree married a Clara Jane Addis, whose father is Joseph Gould Addis. Her mother is Mary Ann Addis, who is now married to Walter's father, George. How do I get them to link up in the tree? I currently have Joseph as 'single' and Clara's father, and Mary Ann as married to George. Any help would be much appreciated. Mads xxxx |

You would add another marriage for her. If you do it on GR, you will need to create another person, but if you do it on some software, you can link the two people. IE - Joe Bloggs marries Jane Smith. Sam Smith marries Susan Jones. Jane and Sam then die (or whatever). Joe Bloggs then marries Susan Smith (nee Jones). Does that make sense? |

Hi Mads, unfortunately you can't link them on Genes, someone has to go on twice.. I'd chose to put Mary Ann on twice, that way the fathers stay with their descendents by name. Di |

So, technically, I would end up with two entries for the same person on the tree? |

I'd get a program you can put your tree on. That way, you don't have to enter them twice, you can just link them :) When you upload it to GR, they stay linked. You can also download your current tree so you don't have to type it all in again. |
