Can someone please have a look at these and tell me what you think: 1861: Susannah Dasey (54) Mother-in-law, Pocklington, Yorks, RG9/3612 1871: Sushannah Davey (65) Servant, Pocklington, Yorks, RG10/4811 1881: Susannah Dovey (74) Head, Pocklington, Yorks, RG11/4798 I know it's the same person, I know she's mine, but is she a Dasey, a Davey or a Dovey, it's driving me mad! Hi Diane Do you have her daughters marriage cert - on the 1861 she's shown as mother in law, so surely the 'man' of the house must be her daughters husband, which gves you his name to order the marriage cert, and this should not only answer your question, but give her husbands name as well - hope this helps. Hi Trudy, you've hit my problem right on the head! I know daughter Ann was married to Robert Swales b. 1826 Kirbymoorside, 7 months of searching now and I still haven't been able to find his birth or their wedding so I have moved on to Ann in an attempt to try from another angle. Di |

Having looked at all 3 images I would say her name was DAVEY. Comparing the entry on each census to other writing on the page, to my eyes the name is Davey on all 3. But I'm no expert! LOL Sue xx |

I'd go along with Davey too! Did you also notice that on the 1881 her brother Richard Arnold is living with her? So there's a good chance that that was Susannah's maiden name. Jeanette x |
