My husbands Grandmother Agnes Benson on birth cert,, i had a hard time with finding the death cert found her as Agnes Ann Benson she never married but i have her infirmary record when she gave birth to my husbands dad still called Agnes Benson no Ann. I also have her baptism record no Ann so where this name came from who knows she wasnt a catholic so not a confirmation name. Her father registers her death in 1935 so surley he would have known his own daughters name but then again would he the mind boggles. Colette

Thanks Kay, Never thought of recording second name on baptism records, I thought all names had to be given on birth certificates, but thanks for the info. I'm fairly confident it's him, so thanks Kay. Sandra Sorry forgot to mention I don't think that's him because between 1901 cenus and marriage all details relate to year 1864, but thanks for trying.

Can anyone help me. I'm confused. I ordered my gt grandfather's birth certificate using his middle name, and the 'on line' Records Office have emailed me saying -'the reference does not appear to relate to the entry you are seeking because the middle name is not stated. Therefore, we are unable to issue a certificate'. His middle name is on his marriage certificate so wouldnt it also be on his birth certificate? Or should I have just ordered it without his middle name? I can't find any other birth record which matches his. I found him on the 1901 census with correct family etc. His name was Joseph Samuel Baker born 1864 Fallings Heath, Staffordshire, father's name is William H Baker. Thanks in advance for any help Sandra
