I save the image to my documents then open the image in a program like Photoshop (I use Photimpact), crop the image to remove all the black parts, clean it up using the 'fill' and 'erase' with white as the colour. This makes a clean picture. Save it as a jpeg file and email the jpeg file. This might be a bit of work though if you are doing it for someone else. You can email the saved file as is and let them do the work.

You don't have to do that. Ancestry has a 'send' facility so that when you are viewing the image, you can email it. No need to save it to your computer.

Twinkle I've seen the send button (top right)and that's how I was going to send it, but then I remembered hearing people who saved it to their computer first...so I wondered if I had to save it as a document before I could use the send button. I am rambling on a bit lol I'll just use the send button (talk about the obvious choice lol) Sue xx

I used the share button for the first time a few days ago without saving it. I did wonder if it could be as simple as that, but the image got through all right, so it must be!
