Hi Ken- It looks like Mary Horn was originally a Popple- There is a marriage in Mar q 1870 between John Horn and Mary Popple, Stamford district, Nothamptonshire, Ref 7a 365.Think that Mary had her children before she married John and that is why they are called Popple. Not too sure about the first entry yet. Thought that maybe James and Mary may be brother and sister and perhaps Horn children with John and Mary are actually nephews of theirs. Found marriage for James Popple to Sarah Winter in 1850, can't be sure if it's right one though. Simone x |

Have you considered that they may in fact be nephews rather than Stepsons? Sometimes the relationships were not defined correctly. |

Well I was looking for John & Jane Horn, but having seen there were step-children I considered John remarrying then I noticed the above entry and POW my logic has been blown wide open |

Well at least they are all together. I guess you will need to get some certs to see where the stepchildren fit in. Or maybe wife swapping was a popular pastime in pre-tv days for people that couldn't read or get out to bingo?! nell |

Hi Ken, Perhaps they just got bored with each and decided to swap to spice things up a little. Seems to have worked, more offspring arriving to each family without much delay!. Jenny. |
