Hi Deb ! I am a member of 'Service Pals' and I have done a search on the site, and there is a member named John Flowers ? the only info he gives is his nick name of 'Tulla ' and his date of birth: 20/7/1939. Eddie from Liverpool.

All I know is he served in WW2 , he was only 1 of 8 of his regiment that came back from Dunkirk at the end of the war. He apparently had all the official gunfire etc at his funeral in Withybrook , Warwickshire in 1963 , he served in the army i think all his working life if not till 1950ish at least Dont know if this is any help to a lead but i have found another flowers (william) and he is believed to be the brother and I do have his army number (not referance) and all details of his death , he also served in the same regiment , The Royal Warwickshire too Deb
