I am looking for Anne Faichen. She was born in Appleby Magna Leicestershire - Maiden name Smith. SEE BELOW

She married William Faichen ( thank goodness - easier than Smith I hear you say!) They lived together in Southampton where they had several children. William died in 1851 and then I totally lose Anne until in 1871. She is now Ann Slade having married in the 1860's and been widowed again. BUT I wonder where she was in 1851 and 1861 before she remarried. I am guessing her daughter Ann born 1850 would be with her as she is in 1871. She also had William born 1842 and Albert 1846. They may have died, but I cannot find them either. Discovered 1861 on Ancestry last night and had great fun searching everyway I thought possible with no results. i know two of her other children were in the London/middlesex area where she was in 1871. She is not in Leicester as I requested a look up from another member - thought she may have gone home to mum in 1851 with a small baby and 2 young children... Any ideas? Alice

Lou, that is wonderful! ann senior is my GGGgrandmother - she died in the workhouse Hanover square some time after 1881. I had lost hope of finding Ann in the 61 or 51. i wonder what she was doing? Thank you Jim. Does this mean she just left baby Anne and went to london? How sad... I know they were reunited by 1871, but then Anne was in workhouse herself in 1881 with children nearby ... I now know Anne was in Googe street and that is a familiar name - someone else in the family lived there but cannot find who - its driving me crazy! have a feeling it might even be another branch, but the name of the street is definitely familiar! Will have to rummage through the pile of papers gathering dust in the corner ..... Alice
