Hi Carole. I thought it was County at first, but it looks like it is family, with the i dotted. After reading your suggestion, I used a magnifying glass and luciky the words Corn and Cattle are also in the will, and the first letter is not a small f -- it's a capital C. The 'dot' is just one of the many dots on the photocopied page. Thank you for your suggestion -- without it I wouldn't have looked so closely at the word (even though it made sense)! Thank you, Lisa |

Hi Lisa, Are you certain it says 'family' and not 'county'? 'in the County of Sussex Yeoman' would make perfect sense. Carole |

I know what 'Yeoman' means, but would anyone know what '...of the parish of Shipley in the 'family of Sussex Yeoman'...' means? (Wondering why it is worded 'family'.) Thank you, Lisa |
