I badly need advice

My dad was adopted by his cousin so we were led to believe as we got older we were taken to meet his real mum in rugeley but his dad died in ww1 and my dad never met him so I havent really got a lot to go on researching my dads side of the family any advice would help thanks Linda

Hi Do you have your dads birth cert? it may have birth parents names on? Then you can get birth parents birth certs and go from there. Im not brilliant at this, sorry, but will look for any info i can Vikki xx

Did your dad retain his birth name? If so, then you need to look for his birth certificate and take it from there. nell

yes he kept his birth name dont think this relative really adopted him think she just took him off his mothers hands as she had quite a few children dont think I have my dads birth certificate will have a look in the box later thank you.......I think his dad is buried in the war graves at newcastle cemetary linda

Linda If you don't have your dad's birth cert - DO LOOK IN THE BOX BECAUSE THERE MAY BE ALL SORTS OF CLUES - you can look it up in the GRO index. nell
